Following a 4-15 campaign in 2024, the eyes of the South Shore weren’t looking closely at the Duxbury baseball team at the season’s outset.
Heading into the playoffs, though, they’re firmly affixed on Chandler Field.
The Dragons rebounded in a big way this season, finishing the campaign 15-5 and currently vying for a top-four seed that would lock up homefield advantage through the majority of the Division 2 tournament.
Duxbury’s captains Cole Heythaler and Brady Wilson will tell you they saw the signs of the year to come from their earliest practices. For the rest of the South Shore, they were impossible to ignore after a 9-1 start to the season.

On Sunday night, Heythaler and Wilson joined the Sports Exchange to take us through their impressive regular season, and talk to us about stealing the headlines in a lacrosse-first town.
As the team readies for the postseason, they let us in on why they think they’ll be such a difficult out in the Division 2 tournament.
