South Shore Showdowns On Tap for Softball Elite 8

by | Jun 6, 2025

The fields have whittled down to the Elite 8 in the 2025 MIAA Softball Tournament!

A busy weekend kicks off Friday night as two local teams look to secure their spot in the state semifinals.

Then, Saturday and Sunday each bring a South Shore showdown.

Plymouth North Baseball Ready to Defend Division 2 Crown

First, Middleboro will meet their third straight Patriot League foe. The Sachems romped to an 8-2 win over Plymouth South in the Sweet 16 after cruising past Hingham to open the tournament.

Battery mates Taylynn Robinson and Taryn Clancy, who each had four hits in the Sweet 16, will both have to shine again if Middleboro wants to pick up the Patriot League treble against top-seeded Silver Lake.

The ladies of the Lake shined again in a 10-1 win over Wakefield last round, and are now outscoring opponents 22-1 in the tournament.

The Tigers are hot off a 7-1 win of their own, having dispatched Weymouth with ease in the Sweet 16.
