Forty-year-old Dennis Costin was arrested Sunday in Dorchester by Quincy police with the assistance of Boston officers following an investigation that he broke into a storage unit in Squantum.
Authorities say that a search warrant for Costin’s residence turned up two rifles, three pistols, over one thousand rounds of ammunition, a smoke grenade, and other firearm components.
Costin is charged with breaking and entering in the daytime, being an armed career felon, seven counts of possessing a large capacity feeding device, two counts of a large capacity firearm, five counts of possessing firearms without a license, illegally possessing ammunition and a chemical substance, and violating the assault weapons law.
Costin was arraigned yesterday (Tuesday) in Quincy District Court and is being held pending a dangerousness hearing on Friday.
