WATD’s Bobbi Clark has more….

Education Secretary Patrick Tutwiler :

“This announcement is reflecting our deep belief in the early education and care sector in general and Head Start in particular with a 20 million dollar supplemental investment in those programs. We’re proud to support the work that happens here. We saw it first hand as we visited classrooms today.”

Early Education and Care Commissioner Amy Kershaw:

“The federal government needs to get back to work and provide   resources to insure that our programs can continue to support the education of the children and the economic opportunities for parents.”

State Senator Dylan Fernandes:

“The Trump Administration has entirely cut the Head Start Program in Massachusetts, and with the federal shutdown, has called out funds for our kids in Head Start.  So, the State, we’re stepping up to support our children.  And we’re going to continue to do that –it’s for our children and just as importantly their families.”
