We want you to get to know a little boy named Salem who needs a forever home!

Salem, who is with Friends of the Marshfield Animal Shelter, is a 4-year-old boy who didn’t have the easiest start to life—he was found as a stray and had to learn what love and safety feel like. Now, he’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, and ready to find a forever home of his own.
Salem is FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but don’t let that scare you! Cats with FIV can live long, happy, healthy lives with proper care. FIV is mainly spread through deep bite wounds, so keeping Salem indoors and in a calm environment is key. Regular vet check-ups, good nutrition, and a low-stress home will help him thrive just like any other cat!
He is shy but very friendly once he feels safe. Salem would do best in a quiet home and would likely thrive as the only cat where he can build confidence and bond closely with his person.
After everything he’s been through, Salem deserves a peaceful home and someone who will give him the patience and love he’s been waiting for!
