Two people were arrested following a stand-off with SWAT officers in Plymouth.
Plymouth police say that around four Saturday morning, a man went to the West Plymouth fire station to report he had been slashed with a knife and held at gunpoint by a male and female in an apartment building on Marc Drive.
The victim was able to flee the apartment and report the incident at the fire station.
Officers went to the apartment and attempted to contact the occupants.
Police say the male and female refused to cooperate and did not respond to further attempts by officers to communicate with them.
Authorities called the Metro-Lec SWAT unit to the scene.
As a precaution, the apartment building was evacuated.
After a short while, officers were able to take the male and female into custody without incident.
The names of the suspects were not released.
Police said the incident remains under investigation and further arrests are possible.
No other information was available.
In a Facebook post, police extended appreciation to the community for their patience and cooperation during the incident that allowed the situation to be brought to a peaceful resolution.
