A Rockland man has been indicted by a Boston federal grand jury for allegedly operating an online drug trafficking business that distributed potent synthetic opioids to customers across the country through the mail, including a shipment that allegedly resulted in the overdose death of a woman in Las Vegas in April 2025.
Twenty-three-year-old Jaden Zion Andre is being charged with distribution and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance resulting in death and several counts of distribution and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
He is scheduled to appear in Boston federal court on Tuesday.
Boston U.S. Attorney Leah Foley says that Andre advertised and sold highly potent synthetic opioids and controlled substance analogues through online accounts and forums as well as on Reddit pages.
Customers allegedly communicated directly with Andre through those accounts to request samples, place orders, and arrange payment and shipping.
It is alleged that Andre then disguised the drugs inside ordinary snack packaging and mailed the packages from post offices throughout Massachusetts to customers nationwide.
In April 2025, a package allegedly shipped to a woman in Las Vegas who had requested a narcotics sample was found dead later that day. A substance recovered from her bedroom subsequently tested positive for a controlled substance.
Authorities say that Andre’s trafficking operation continued through this May with investigators connecting additional packages to overdose death investigations in Florida, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.
He is currently in state custody on unrelated charges.
